10:10 Life Vision Update – June 2023

10:10 Life Vision update

10:10 Life is a two-year discipleship journey at The Church of Eleven22 rooted in John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

church life

At The Church of Eleven22, we are a movement for all people to discover and deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ. Church Life encompasses all the ways we come together as a church family to help us accomplish this vision. We do this through weekly worship gatherings, Eleven22 Kids and students, disciple groups, Eleven22 Online, next steps and our four primary events that make up Eleven22 Life – Easter, Beach Baptism, Saturated and Christmas Eve.

Easter

We love Easter at The Church of Eleven22 where our church family comes together with friends and family to celebrate the glorious resurrection of Jesus. Like we always say around here, “If the tomb is empty, anything is possible!” This Easter we were also able to celebrate:

  • 29,016 people attended in person across all campuses

  • 47,717 people attended live online

  • 194 people declared Jesus as their Lord and Savior

Beach Baptism

At The Church of Eleven22 we believe baptism is a powerful reminder of Christ's death, burial and resurrection. Believer’s baptism is a way for an individual who has received the saving benefits of Christ’s atoning work and become His disciple to publicly declare that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior.

At Eleven22 it’s a really big deal and we enthusiastically celebrate every single baptism! While baptisms take place throughout the year, once a year we gather together as one church family for baptisms at the beach. On May 21, in an extraordinary display of faith, we witnessed a staggering 1,126 individuals publicly declare their faith through believer’s baptism at Hanna Park Beach.

Thousands of friends and family members joined them to celebrate, making it one of the largest beach baptisms in American history. Participants traveled from all corners of the country, including many from our local community in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia.

eternal life

Matthew 28:19 says, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Through the Eternal Life initiative, we will continue to make room for one more. As a church, our goal is to plant 1,000 churches, send 100 long-term missionaries, and launch 10+ 22 campuses by 2029.

Missionary Updates

We’ve been blown away by the response from our church family to go on mission to share the gospel and make much of Jesus.

  • We’ve sent 54 long-term missionaries

  • 2,334 people have been sent on short-term mission trips

  • An additional 570 people have signed up to go on mission this year

Stories from missionaries

“From the time I surrendered my life to Jesus in 2017, I knew I had a role in the kingdom and the local church, but never once did I label myself as a missionary. I sat through years of messages on being "sent" and I told the Lord, "Here I am, don't send me."

In 2021, I felt the simple yet profound nudge of the Holy Spirit. My eyes were opened to the command and call given by Scripture that I had neglected for so long. That summer, I decided to spend two weeks in Zanzibar, Africa on mission to the unreached Muslims in that nation. God had planted a seed to begin the road to discerning my calling to long-term mission.

Soon, through the 10:10 Life discipleship journey, I will spend three months in Mozambique and Zambia, Africa learning how to reach the thousands of unreached people groups on this earth. I'm not sure how the end will play out, but I can now utter the very words “Here I am, send me” with no hesitation or fear.”

— Christine Gonzalez, Baymeadows campus

“We are being sent by Eleven22 to New Life Church in Malawi, Africa to be long-term missionaries. A year ago, if you had asked us to find this place on a map, we could not have done it. Throughout the whole process, we have prayed together, been excited together and sat together in the confusion.

Sometimes after you put your yes on the table, putting it on the map isn’t always logical and doesn’t always make sense. After much prayer and conversation with our community, we knew God was calling us to go and be a part of all that He is already doing in Malawi, and through the 10:10 Life we will be sent to take the gospel to the ends of the earth.”

  • A Wildlight mobile campus will be coming Fall 2024 in the Yulee area

  • We are praying for additional campus opportunities in Orlando, Palatka and Sarasota

abundant life

Psalm 139:14 says, “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Through the Abundant Life initiative, we are going on a mission to rescue the people the Enemy is trying to take out and fight for the people who cannot fight for themselves.

Childhood Poverty

On May 8, Hope’s Closet hosted a Luau at the Boys & Girls Club of Northeast Florida complete with a silent disco, a bounce house, games, slime, pizza and treats to help create beautiful and fun memories for the kids. Their huge team of serve staff was able to honor and serve 120 Boys & Girls Club students and 25 staff members.

First Responders

Pancake Breakfast at Jesup
On February 18, over 30 serve staff from the Jesup campus hosted a first responder pancake breakfast. Eighty first responders were served in person and we were able to send to-go meals to the Wayne County Jail and the Wayne County 911 call center.

“When Pastor Joby laid out our plans for the 10:10 Life, I knew that Jesus would use me to help the men and women of Wayne County who are first responders. We have been able to honor them with two pancake breakfasts so far this year. Through things like this, I know that if we can open up one conversation about the goodness of God and provide an opportunity for them to “taste and see” first responders can be reminded and encouraged that the work they do is appreciated. We want them to know that when work or home life gets hard, they have people who care and a Father who listens and will meet them right where they are.”

— Jacob Weaver, Jesup campus

Carwash and Barbeque at Mandarin
On April 22, the Mandarin campus hosted a first responder carwash and barbeque event to serve local first responders. The 35 serve staff members who attended were able to serve multiple agencies, including JSO, JFRD and Duval County School Board Police. Undersheriff Shawn Coursey attended and even called for an air unit to show up.

  • 236 plates of food were served

  • 41 vehicles were washed

Prison Campuses

  • On May 6, we launched our newest prison campus in Duval County Women’s Correctional, where 11 women have since surrendered their life to Jesus Christ

  • So far, we have seen 524 salvations across all of our prison campuses

Senior Adults

We currently have 11 active worship sites in senior living facilities around Jacksonville with weekly Eleven22 services.

“Recently, I attended the Senior Adult Ministry interest night and listened to Eleven22’s vision to have services shown in senior facilities around town.

I prayed about how I could make a difference and was so excited when I received permission to start a Saturday morning Bible study with residents of Grand Living at Tamaya. On April 15 we were able to begin hosting Eleven22 services there and began with the series, Anything is Possible.

I am looking forward to more residents, their families and even Grand Living staff to join us for growth in their faith walk.”
